Workfurniture partnered with a leading Auckland agency to deliver a highly adaptable and collaborative breakout space within their CBD premises. The objective was to create a multifunctional environment that could support a range of uses — from informal workshops and breakout sessions to large-scale internal town halls — all within a single reconfigurable footprint.

Furniture Solutions Delivered

  • Seating Capacity for 60–80+: A flexible mix of seating types was provided to accommodate both seated and standing events.
  • Flip Tables & Flip Bar Leaners on Castors: Easily mobile and reconfigurable tables and bar leaners allow quick layout changes depending on the event.
  • Custom Semi-Circular Sofa: A large, upholstered feature sofa encourages informal gatherings and visual cohesion in the space.
  • Portable Power Solutions: CMS Freedom portable power units were integrated to ensure connectivity wherever people choose to work or gather.
  • Barstools & Casual Seating: Additional stools and soft seating added flexibility and comfort for both short meetings and longer sessions.

Design Approach & Consultation

Understanding that flexibility was key, Workfurniture developed multiple layout concepts tailored to the agency’s intended use cases — including training sessions, breakout meetings, and company town halls. Our team worked closely with the client to explore furniture arrangements that could be easily reconfigured while maintaining style, comfort, and efficiency.

Sustainability & Cost-Efficiency: Reuse + Refurbishment

The client had a range of existing furniture items — including cube-style ottomans, modular sofas, and armchairs — that they wished to retain and incorporate. As part of our solution:

  • Furniture Audit & Assessment: We reviewed all reusable pieces and advised on how they could be integrated into the new layout.
  • Refurbishment Proposal: Workfurniture quoted for full refurbishment, including new fabric selections, reupholstery, and minor repairs.
  • Project Management: We handled the entire refurbishment process, from pickup to redelivery — ensuring the refurbished pieces were delivered and installed seamlessly alongside the new furniture.
